Game overview: One of the last titles published under the Waddingtons brand, which sold out to Hasbro in the early 1990s, Tall Tales is a storytelling game where players weave stories to their liking, of crime, passion, adventure ... hiding a keyword from other players that nobody knows except the author of the tale ... YOU! Perhaps you have cast yourself as the hero of the story, or perhaps a witness of some heroic act or participant in a grand adventure. Here's how it all works. Each player gets a story card to set the basic scene of their tale and start them off. The player continues the tall tale, often making it as weird and wacky as they possibly can. Then comes the more tricky part! To hide your special keyword so that no one else can guess what it is. Keep in mind this keyword must incorporate a theme into your story according to which space you land on: Crime, Love Affair, Witness, or Hero. A fun family game and a great game for kids to use their storytelling imagination and language skills to the fullest!
Inside the box: as stated, this game is complete and inside the box you will receive:
- 1 four-part folding Tall Tales game board
- 1 deck of 30 Tall Tales Keyword cards
- 1 deck of 90 Tall Tales Storyline cards
- 6 WOODEN colored player pawns (one each of orange, green, yellow, white, blue and natural)

- 1 Tall Tales score pad with many unused sheets
- 1 sheet of original instructions for game play
- 4 original cardboard box inserts
- stack of recycled paper squares for your hidden word to be written on!
Game condition: Game is in EXCELLENT! and seemingly little-used condition and, as stated, is 100% complete. The wooden player pawns and dice are in EXCELLENT!, clean and unbroken condition. The wooden sand timer works as it should. The supply of score pads is still affixed to its spine and all text is clear and legible. The game board has a strong, sturdy spine and lays flat and fold easily, as it should. Game board graphics are bright and vivid and board text is clear and legible with NO! fading or discoloration apparent. Both the Keyword and Tall Tales Storyline cards are in EXCELLENT! condition with NO! rips or tears, NO! creases and NO! dog-eared corners. Text is clear and legible. The original instructions are here and are also clear, legible and easy to read. All of the 4 original box inserts are here and are in clean and unbroken condition. Game box is also in EXCELLENT! vintage condition with NO! split, torn or broken corners or sides and VERY MINIMAL! shelf wear for a game of the period.
All in all, in EXCELLENT! and complete condition and one of the rarer and last Waddingtons board games. Super game for family game night, fun for all ages of players and a game that Groovy played with her own boys when they were young (that's how old GROOVY! is). This is the only copy of this game we have ever had for sale in the shop (other than the one I personally own which I keep for sentimental reasons!).
